Licensing Offence.-David Morgans, Llanon, was charged by P.C. Evan Evans with having sold intoxicating liquors at the Wooden House Inn, Llanbadarn, during prohibited hours on Sunday April 2nd Mr. Griffith Jones defended. Complainant said he was on duty near on the bridge on the day mentioned and saw a man coming out of the wooden house and another entering. He then went to the house, and found two men inside, having glasses of beer on a table in trout of them. Anne Oliver said she kept the house for Mr. David Morgans, of Llanon She added that the men came to the house to ask for permission to pasture beasts in her field. She consented, provided the fences were in order. The fences not being Strong, the beasts were not put in the field. Williams asked for beer, and said he had come far enough to demand it. Peter Jones and David Williams the men present, then gave evidence. The former said he went to the house having taken 53 cattle into Mr. Jenkins field. He aid not call for any beer. David Williams said he went to the house, having come from Pontrhydfendigaid with cattle, which were with those of the last witness. The case was adjourned for a couple of months
