ALLEGED LARCENY. Before Col. Davies-Evans. Messrs. David Davies and Daniel Jenkins, on Friday in last week, Frank Webb, a travelling hawker, was charged by John Jones. 2, Lincoln-street, Llandyssul, with stealing his watch and chain from him on May 19th. Mr. D. F. Lloyd appeared for the accused. Prosecutor said he met accused and John Lovell, a gipsy, at Alltyblacca Arms, on the day in question, and they had drinks. They visited several pubs after that. At the Fish and Anchor accused took his (witness's) watch out of his pocket, but he was too much afraid of him to resist. They went afterwards to the Clock Inn, Cribyn. They wanted some more drink, but they had no money. He jumped into the trap there and went back to Llandyssul. leaving the other two behind. Witness created roars of laughter while giving his evidence. P.C. Jones, Cwrtnewydd. said he arrested accused upon information received the prosecutor. He gave him the watch and said prosecutor cave it to him to try and have some drink on it. He intended to give it back to him at Cribyn. He went into the Mynach Arms, and when he came out' the prosecutor had gone. The Bench discharged the prisoner and ordered the prosecutor to pay the costs.
