On Licensed Premises.-David Davies, Mountain, Llanwenog; Evan Evans, Rhydy- cynydd, Llandyssul; and John Rees, Penffordd, Llanwenog, were each charged with being on the licensed premises of Tynyporth Inn, Llanwenog, in contravention of the Licensing Act, 1874. Anne Williams, Tynyporth Inn, the landlady, was also charged with keeping her licensed premises open for .rl l the sale of intoxicating liquors in contravention of the Licensing Act, 1874 P.C. Chas. Charman stated that at about 10.55 p.m. on the 12th inst., he visited Tynyporth Inn. The front door was wide open. In the passage he found Davies and his aunt, Mary Davies. In the kitchen he found Rees and Evans. He asked the landlady how she accounted for their presence, and she replied that Evans and Rees came for food, and Davies came to see his aunt. Asked if she had supplied them with drink, she replied "No." On the table witness found empty glasses with traces of beer in them. When he served Rees and Evans with the summons they said they were there, and said they were sorry. They asked witness to ask the bench to deal leniently with them. The landlady told witness that this was the first time she had had any complaint, and asked him not to take notice of it, as it would not occur again. Cross-examined by Mr. Lloyd, witness did not see any bread or cheese. He saw no beer supplied. Anne Williams, the landlady, said that the men called at her house after closing time for bread and cheese, which she gave them. She did not supply any beer. -The Bench considered the case proved, and fined each defendant 5s. and costs.
