LICENSING BUSINESS. This was also the Licensing Sessions. There are 11 licences in the 100-four for seven days and seven for six days. There being no objections, all the licences were granted. Mr W. E George, solicitor, Newcastle- Emlyn, applied for a transfer and the renewal of the licence of Trewern Arms, Aberporth. It transpired that the licensee died about January last, and that the house was kept on by the daughter without a transfer of the licence for a period, and again kept by another person without having the licence transferred. This person took away the licence with him, and refused to return it. The house was subsequently kept by John Jones, who died a short time ago, and now an application was made by the widow for a temporary transfer and a renewal of the licence after October 10th next. After a long discussion on the bearings of these irregularities on the validity of the licence, it was ultimately resolved to grant the application as the licence belonged the house, and that it subsisted until October 10th next.
