Pritchard Arms, Cardigan. Mr. W. J. Williams applied for renewal of the Pritchard Arms, Mr. J. Hicks, licensee and owner; gross value, £10, ratable £8; and P.S. Evans stated that the tenant had joined the navy and the present tenant was his daughter. Mr. David Hughes, the Committee's valuer, estimated the compensation at £129 13s. 9d.; its value as a private house, £200; and as a public house £275. Mr John Evans, auctioneer, Cardigan, valued the house licensed at £15 a year, and unlicensed £8. He had sold all the houses in the street, except three, and not one sold for over £150. The claim was £248 5s., and the Committee allowed £83 Is. 5d. compensation.
