Col Powell, M.P., summoned Morris Jones, coachbuilder, for refusing to give up possession of a certain dwelling house and premises in Little Dark Gate street, in this town, known as the Farmer's Arms. Mr Thomas Griffiths, clerk to Col Powell, said that Morris Jones held the Farmer's Arms under a lease up to Michaelmas, 1862, and since that time he had paid rent for the premises as yearly tenant, the same rent as was paid under the lease. Mr John Williams, who had come down from London, and was formerly a clerk in the office of Mr F. R. Roberts, said that he served on the defendant the notice to quit now produced, on the 23d day of October, 1863, in the defendant's house called the Farmer's Arms, he also at the same time explained to the defendant that it was a notice to quit. A warrant of ejectment was ordered to be issued.
