Assault.-David James, Milford Tavern, Aberaron Was summoned by Robert Evans, Darkgate-street for having assaulted and beaten his son, aged eight years, on the 5th inst. Mary Evans, the complainant's wife said she saw the defendant beating her son with an ash stick close to a boat. John Jones Llanybyther, saw the defendant beating the boy. Owen James, aged 15, son of defendant, saw complainant's boys in his father's boat, swinging. He told them to go away, and they did so. Deefendant said he could not get the boys out of the boat. He took a stick to frighten the others. They were dirtying and damaging it, The boy threw a stone at witness, and he then beat him. P.C. John Jones said he saw marks on the boy, as if caused by a stick. Fined 5s. and costs 17s. 6d.
