TREASURER. APPREHENDED A PONTERWYD FRIENDLY SOCIETY CASE. .David Daniel, Ponterwyd the treasurer of the Loyal Gogerddan Lodge of Oddfellows, who was committed, together with Isaac Jones, the secretary of the lodge, on charges of conspiracy and of embezzlement, and failed to submit to his bail at the quarter sessions for the county, held at Lampeter on Thursday, was apprehended by Chief-constable Howell Evans, on the court's warrant, at his home on Thursday night. Following the instructions of the court, Daniel was brought up in custody at the office of Mr. F. R. Roberts, deputy clerk of the peace (before Mr. D. C. Roberts and Mr. David Thomas), on Saturday morning. Failing, however, to satisfy the terms of the justices sitting at quarter sessions, viz., that he be bound over in the sum of £75, with two sureties of £30 each, to appear at the next sessions, the Magistrates agreed to remand him until to-day (Monday), with the view of giving him an opportunity of obtaining the necessary sureties.
