Description:

Transcript:
Mr Supt. Lloyd summoned Edward Price, Crystal Palace Inn, for having sold a quantity of beer to Daniel Price, jun., on Sunday, 27th July. P.C. Daniel Jones said that at 10.40 on Sunday night he saw Daniel Price, Portland-lane, going to the side door of the Crystal Palace Inn and afterwards put a bottle in his pocket. At first he denied having had a bottle, but on being told that the transaction had been seen, he admitted it, and hoped that it would be overlooked, as he had never done anything of the kind before. The bottle contained a little over half a pint of beer. The defendant at first denied, but afterwards admitted the offence, and, with Price, asked the constable not to report the matter. Mr Ravenhill appeared for defendant and admitted the offence, and defendant was fined £1 and ordered to pay costs
