Abusive Language. Mary Williams, single woman, of Portland-lane, summoned Ellen Jones, wife of Thomas Jones, junr., Merionethshire Arms, for making use of abusive language towards her on the previous Sunday, and for threatening to do her bodily harm. Complainant said the defendant followed her, and threatened her, calling her a public prostitute, and imputing that she had committed adultery with her (defendant's) husband. The complainant was in bodily fear of defendant, and wished to have her bound over to keep the peace. The defendant did not appear, and a warrant to apprehend her was ordered to be issued.
A Husband Summoning his Wife. -Thomas Jones, of the Merionethshire Arms, summoned his wife, Ellen Jones, the defendant in the last case, for using abusive language towards him, they having been living separate for some He said that he was standing at the van of the Cheap Jack, in Queen's-square with another man, when his wife came up and called him all sorts of bad names, and struck him violently with stones and also struck him in the face with her fist. She was constantly annoying him. A warrant was ordered for the defendant's apprehension.
