OUTRAGE NEAR LAMPETER. Mysterious Attack on a Traveller. As Mr. D. Price Davies. M.R.C.V.S., Royal Oak Hotel. Lampeter, was returning front Llywele, Llansawel, in his two-wheeled trap, and when on Rhiw Derlwyn, near Mountain, he received two terrific blows - one on his temple and the other on the back part of his head, and he just remembers putting out his hand to protect himself as he was in the act of falling. He did not see or hear anything, as it was dark. He does not know how long he remained unconscious, but he noticed that, although it was dark at the time he was struck, when he came to himself he could see his hat seven yards from him by the light of the moon. Mr Davies then went in search of the mare but the mare and trap arrived safely home at about twelve o'clock. Then James, the ostler, and John Davies, of the Cambrian Factory, went in search of Mr. Davies. and they, after many miles of travelling, found him near Derlwyn. Mr. Davies's hand was badly bruised in trying to protect himself when falling. In olden times Derlwyn Wood had a. very bad reputation as being the resort of highway robbers.
