Description: Transcript:CARDIGANSHIRE. The unfortunate gentleman resided near the above named inn, and was of somewhat eccentric habits. For some few days previous to the commission of the dreadful act he had been in an unusually excited state of mind, but from what cause did not transpire, and upon the day preceding the one in question had not quitted his bed-room. Attention was first drawn to him by some of the inmates in the room below observing blood drip from the ceiling, and on going into the room they found the unfortunate gentleman lying on the floor, with his head nearly severed from his body. Mr. Noat, a surgeon, was called in, but life was quite extinct, and his death must have been instantaneous, his head being nearly severed from his body. The fatal act was committed with a common penknífe, which lay beneath. the body when it was raised from the ground. Verdict,'Temporary insanity'
