"Selling Beer without Licence. Superintendent R. Lloyd charged Thomas Cousins, of Brynmadog, Bettws Bledrws, with selling beer without a licence on the 10th of July, upon which occasion two 18-gallon casks, one full of beer, and the other containing about four gallons, were seized. Defendant, who had been previously convicted of a similar offence, was fined £15, and costs, and the casks, with the beer in question, were forfeited. " CN 25 July 1879
