Address/Location: Hampton House, Railway Terrace
OS Grid Ref: SN5858581691 probably
Opened: 1883
Closed: 1896       Type: Brewery
Summary: Allsopp was a brewer based in Burton on Trent from the 1740s. It had financial difficulties in 1911, but continued trading until it was merged with Ind Coope in 1935.
It had an office, but not a brewery, in Aberystwyth where it tried to compete for sales with the local brewer, David Roberts. Adverts for the office started in 1883 and continued until 1906.

On the 1891 Census Thomas A Sarjeant is shown at 5 Brewer St. as a Brewer's Agent. Could this have been on the corner with Railway Terrace? The building on the station-side corner had been demolished by 1905 (map), so probably on the opposite corner.
