Richard Roberts, tramping pedlar, was charged with the same offence [drunkenness] at Aberystwyth on the 30th November. Sergeant Evans said that about 12.30 on the day stated he was called to the Prince Albert Inn. He then saw defendant, who appeared drunk, and told him to go to his lodgings at Trefechan when he promised to go. In a short time afterwards witness saw defendant in Portland-lane drunk, and committing a nuisance. The sergeant then locked him up and in the cell he became very violent. Defendant had been in the town about a month. Another witness gave evidence. Defendant was then fined 10s. and costs or in default 14 days imprisonment
