A LANDLADY CHARGED WITH DRUNKENNESS. Mrs Alice Parry Edwards, landlady of the Tivyside Inn, Llechryd, was charged by Police-constable Jones, stationed at Llechryd, with being drunk on her licensed premises, on Saturday, September 16th. Defendant did not appear. Police-constable Jones and Evan Jones, water bailiff, who was called in as a witness by the constable, proved the case. Fined 10s, and 9s 6d Costs
FOUND DRUNK ON LICENSED PREMISES. -P.C. Jones charged John Charles, Tanyfron, Llangoedmore, fisherman, with being drunk on the licensed premises of the Tivyside Inn, Llechryd, on the same day. The officer and the water bailiff proved the charge. It transpired that defendant was sleeping on the floor of the parlour, and was" dead drunk," at 3 p.m. The officer again visited the house at 7.30 p.m., and found defendant sitting in the kitchen, with a pint of beer before him, and very drunk. He enquired where the landlady was, and was told by her son, a boy of about 11 years of age, who had the sole care of the house, that she was upstairs in bed. Fined 10s, and 9s 6d costs. He was allowed a week to pay.
PERMITTING DRUNKENNESS ON LICENSED PREMISES. The same officer charged Mrs Alice Parry Edwards, Tivyside Inn, Llechryd, with permitting drunkenness in her house on the same day and hour. Defendant did not appear. The same evidence was given as in the former case. Fined £2 and costs, the licence ordered to be endorsed, and the sessions to be adjourned to the 7th Oct. for its production and endorsement.
