Transcript:
Fire at Gwbert-on-the-Sea.-About one o clock on Thursday morning the public house at Gwibert-on-the-Sea was discovered to be on lire, and an effort was made to extinguish the fire by means of a private extinguisher they had in the place, but it proved unworkable and water had to be carried from a large pool in an adjoining field. The public house being at the pine-end of the hotel and private lodging-house, and adjoining them, it was at one time feared that the fire would spread to these, but it was confined to the old public house, which was gutted and its furniture and utensils destroyed. Mr E Williams unfortunately had only partially insured his effects, consequently he will have to bear the loss and inconvenience of carrying on his business elsewhere. The store-houses and stabling at the back of the premises were saved, the wind keeping the flames from them.
